What is SASO Certificate?

SASO (Saudi Arabian Standards Organization) certificate is needed. This document is required for all products to be exported to Saudi Arabia from world to be brought to the country.

While obtaining the SASO certificate, the products to be exported are researched in a laboratory environment in accordance with SASO conditions and a quality standard is made.

How to Obtain SASO Certificate?

In order to obtain the SASO certificate, first of all, the products to be exported to Saudi Arabia must be tested in the laboratory checking they comply with the standards.

Laboratory documents that are revealed after they are checked, the process of obtaining the SASO certificate is started. SASO certificate is given before loading the products.

SASO benefits from SABER, an electronic conformity assessment platform. SASO recommends Businesses to use this platform, requires obtaining product and shipping documents for products subject to its technical regulations, and obtaining a declaration and shipping document for products not covered by the technical regulation.

SASO Certificate Export Applications

Documents sought by SASO Saudi Arabia for export are as follows:

Documents other than these are optional and may vary depending on the product to be imported and the agreement made with the importer.

International HS codes

Saudi Arabia uses its own 12-digit HS codes. The product's Saudi HS code determines which technical regulations must be followed and whether SASO or SABER is required. Many 6-8 digit international HS codes do not always match the Saudi Arabian 12 digit HS Code. Many transactions require re-evaluation of HS codes to identify the right one for your products. Product group exempt from SASO certification

There are some product groups that are not given SASO Certificate;

• military products

• food and agricultural products
